Hapuna Beach River?
Переглядів 34 тис.Місяць тому
I had a big plan to go to Hapuna Beach today for Mothers Day-I was unaware they had experience pretty bad flooding in the area. Hapuna was closed but we had lunch at the Westin Hapuna and walked down to beach to see the river that cut the beach in half. It was roaring yesterday. We also went to the cove I wanted to swim in and it’s full of dirty water and the beach is littered with goat poop th...

Interview with Hawaii Island Mayor
Moved to hawaii in 2010. Sold almost everything in ca and sent some over in boxes. Suggest selling it and buying it again. Did send the car over. Everyone wants to live in hawaii and i did. I loved it but couldnt get career going there. Was a hs teacher and the teaching jobs werent real good. If you have to work you will probably not be able to retire there. Things are expensive and in my opinion the island only lets in some people.....a few stay and many leave. I always had the feeling that outsiders shouldnt have been able to live there...we took their culture from them....
Hey Eric, what sort of de-aging filter were you using on Julie in the Temple Bar segment? Her eye looks wonky! Love yous!
TELL ME @Loubert1000!! Eric's camera went out of focus when he was filming the drink and it didnt correct when it came to my face! Then instead of just not using the footage, he decided to try and fix it..like a crazy plastic surgeon, lol! I would have just cut it out, but did not want to lose telling folks about Temple Bar.
Watching your video now and laughing about the parking part! Your description of all the different places and policies shows exactly why I don’t use downtown parking very often anymore. I used to like to just go down that way and wander around. But now it’s such a process, trying to figure out the best way to do that, and having to stop at a particular place to get validation, maybe for only a couple of hours and then I have to do it again… it’s taken all the fun out of it. So I only go downtown if I have a specific need to be there. I get why they’re having to do parking this way, but I find that I just don’t bother with it anymore.
I learned about the Ona Loa Grill from Julie. Best burger in Kona.
Thanks ..hope you let Chris know you found out about it from 365!
Another great update! Thank you so much.❤ We really appreciate all you and Eric do in support of our community!🥰
Thank you very much Larry! 😘
You need to do a uber, Lyft and Holoho episode. The parking in Kona is going to close the town. We went to dinner and got validation. A big dude still put a ticket on our car with a $120 fine. We negotiated it to $20 cash and he left (with the ticket) we live in palasaides but will not go back until the county council figures this out.
Sadly, the County council does not see it as their purview to intervene since they view it as a private property issue. Not sure how this is going to go down, but someone should do something before we have a ghost town.
You almost wacked that kid in the face…lol!
I KNOW! SOOO close..that's what I get from using my big expressive gestures!
About Kona parking ... really disgusting how it's all paid parking now ... the city does not care if local businesses aren't supported ... more and more local businesses going out of business ... or moving to some other community where parking is free.
I have made my thoughts known to both the Mayor and the Council woman.
We used to own in Kona Paradise and later Pualuni Estates! What went in where Splashers used to be?
The Big Kahuna Grill
Thank you so much Eric and Julie, I will be sure to stop by the Burger joints, Not too shabby and Olivia's closet when I visit in November. Best wishes, Tania in Australia
Awesome!!
I’ve been visiting the big island since 1999 and my first thought was, “there’s a Macy’s in Kona?” I had no idea. Where is it? Since our timeshare is up in Waikoloa, I always enjoy taking a day to walk around Alii drive, stopping in shops and restaurants along the way. Definitely not something I can do in 2 hours. Looks like I’m going to have to look into the trolley next time I visit.
That Macy's is up above Queen K at the Makalapua Shopping Center
Great video guys!
Thank you!😃
❤your video updates.😊😊
Thank you!!
Super cute dress! Thanks for the update. I'm sure missing BI
Thank you!!
Great update, I am glad to see new businesses opening up, especially quality restaurants. In the past week, it was announced that the Outrigger Kona Resort & Spa will be host to the first Duke's location on the Big Island. A beautiful 15,000 sq ft oceanfront location, opening up in late 2025.
I was going to say that!!! Yes..looking forward to it!
Love your updates it’s good to hear about new businesses 😊😊
Thanks for always giving us some extra thumbs up! 🥰
Great update! How does validation work - isn't that lot pay-in-advance? We visit Ona Loa Grill every trip!
THinking they have a computer that is attached to ParkLinq that lets them cut the parking lot.
I don't know who all these people are that need more than 90 minutes at a restaurant, but ParkLinq is super easy assuming you have a Hawaii Drivers License. I park easy and free anytime I'm downtown for a meal!
Depending on the wait to be seated it can easily take 90 minutes. Also, when we’ve visited Coconut Grove over the years we go to the other stores in the complex and also get some gelato. Maybe if they lower the hourly rates they might actually fill up the lot.
We were in Kona 6/11-6/18 and tried Ono Loa Grill’s cheeseburger based on your recommendation from one of your previous videos. The cheeseburgers were delicious!
That is awesome to hear!! They do a REALLY great job with seasoning! 🤙
I no longer go there. Amazon is easier.
😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Hey Julie where’s that located?
What beach?
It’s ridiculous 😡 Hurting businesses in town too. When I used q-r code to get my 2 hour free parking said I had to use a credit card to register and that I’d get the $1 refunded. What a mess. My credit card company blocked my card cause they suspected fraudulent activity and turned into a whole fiasco 😡. I now just avoid the area🥲
"Oh its soooo hot. The high was 85!" 🙄
I love you guys's energy... great video and the music there was great, one of my favourite songs Thank You for this video
I grew up in Hilo, there's crime.
Clearly you live on the Waikaloa side.
Being white in Hawaii.
I was just there a week ago. I didn't see the free for local part on the sign. I waited in the car while others bought something. It's all bull.
What is this farm called?
They've done amazing work at that farm. It has been a joy to watch it come together over the last year. 😊
So pretty!
Why not mention validation? C'mon
I always heard the rainy season in HI is November through March?
West Hawaii has a different weather pattern for the most part from other places in the islands. Lately it seems it's rainy from Feb-June!
@@365Hawaii Thanks. Good to know. I usually visit May/June and the weather has been great.
I'm hoping to get more information on the 4th of July. I went to your website but I don't see the info on there. I'm not planning on buying a home in Hawaii, just visiting.
www.ParadesInKona.com Parade starts at 6 pm, fireworks at 8 pm and live entertainment and fun place to watch is the new The Temple right on Alii.
Long ago it was called Kings trail. It used to be to go around the whole island. Read up on it.
Growing up in Hawaii, I use to go fishing with my grandfather and a lot of the trails are over grown. I lived in hawi and we saw it from Waipio, Pololu, Kohala coast to Kona. Hotels and development has ruined parts of it but if you know the old stories, it’s pretty cool. Just always respect the islands and the people
Might be a bit more expensive but doesn't stop us getting there from Toronto😊
I think it's kinda hard to generalize the conditions on the big island, considering the wide variety of climatic zones encompassed on the big island. I lived (past tense) in Waikola Village all the way down to Keauhou. Besides the elevation, Waikola was much more comfortable due to the lesser humidity and stronger more consistent trade winds. My first "winter" on the big island we lives at Kona Coffee Villas, and at somewhere around 2000 ft elevation the wind coming off the volcanoe was absolutely frigid (50 degrees) 😅. So if it's too hot in Kona, take a trip up to Kameula for the day.
Thanks @Danerskine9862 The title is actually WEST Hawaii..which is, you are right, more indicative of a certain region more than the entire island. And Waikoloa Village can definitely be cooler in the summer due to its elevation and wind!
I want to move to the Big Island! It's been 100 degrees for 4 days here in Florida!!! And it's only June!!!
WOW WOW WOW! That is crazy.
@@365Hawaii Yes it is!!!
Vog can be a factor for some. That's main a BI factor.
The first time I went to Hawaii, I had just left 102 degrees and 95% humidity in Indiana. It was sooooo much more comfortable in Hawaii.
It is ALL perspective!!
Much like Denver right now. Would much rather be in Hawaii! ❤
Love the breeze in Honolulu 😊
Got news for you. Teton Pass between Idaho and Wyoming just had a landslide. Beware.
South Kohala (Mauna Lani) is significantly less humid than Kona - averaging 58% RH so far in June. It's comfortable here year round.
Thank you for another fun video! Love watching you two laughing and sharing info. Your love of Kona is contagious!
Another great informative video from 365 Hawaii.
Thanks Lance!
We lived in Keaau for 16 years and absolutely loved it there. Moved to Arizona and for medical reasons and can’t stand the heat June to September.
Diamond Parking is the company contracted. They don't give two shits if it's a local or not, worker or not, they slap tickets down. It's complete bullshit.
We will be in Kona on June 30! Our first time In the summer so this was awesome information! Love your videos! What are you using for microphones?
Thanks for your input. Microphones are DGI wireless microphones.
May 3rd- 13th. It was comfortably hot, 2nd degree sunburn, ( duly noted on sunscreen), did not use A/C at our resort, lychee was delicious at the Kona market as were the Shaka Tacoz! You guys are great and Mahola for another great video!
Mahalo
Question: when does the wind gusts the most resulting in Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS)? TIA
Well,,as. you know we had that passing hurricane on August 8th last year..but we don;t have public safety public shut offs on this island.
@@365Hawaii Good to know! Hopefully, the HECO PSPS plan will not be implemented. Moving from SoCal in the near future, so I hope I don't bring any bad mana'o of roaming blackouts/brownouts with me, lol! Mahalo for your response.🤙🏽
